Why choose organic products?

In a time when health, sustainability and fairness are becoming ever more important, more and more people are asking themselves: Why should I choose organic? The answer is simple: organic products are healthy for you, sustainable for the planet, and fair to the people behind them. Royal Green shows how organic supplements and foods contribute to a healthier life, in a way that is pure, honest and natural.

WHAT DOES ‘ORGANIC’ ACTUALLY MEAN?

Organic is a legally protected term. It represents a way of producing food based on four key values: health, ecology, fairness and care. These principles form the foundation of European legislation, which guarantees that organic products:

  • Produced without synthetic pesticides or artificial fertilisers.

  • Made without genetic modification.

  • Free from synthetic colours, flavours and additives.

  • Respect animal welfare.

  • And preserve nature as much as possible.

What makes Royal Green different?

Wouldn't it be great if the word 'natural' would be a protected word that could not be claimed by everyone. Every supplement brand can say it is offering 'natural' vitamins & minerals, although this is often not the case at all. Therefore always look at the ingredients that are used in the product. If the term does not sound like something that grows in nature, then there is a very big chance that it is a synthetic or isolated ingredient.

MG is a measure of weight

The amount of milligrams or micrograms of a certain ingredient in a supplement only tells you one thing: how much it weighs… not how much of it is actually absorbed by the body. Mg is a unit of weight, not absorption! That’s why it’s important to look at the form in which a nutrient is provided, rather than just the number of milligrams. Is the ingredient synthetic or plant-based? The form determines how well it is absorbed by the body. You could take 1000 mg of isolated ascorbic acid (vitamin C), but that doesn’t mean all 1000 mg will be absorbed.

A plant-based vitamin C (such as camu camu, amla or acerola) provides not only vitamin C but also dozens of other nutrients. This not only greatly enhances absorption and activity, but also gives the vitamin a broader effect within the body. An isolated ascorbic acid, created by humans, provides just one compound.

Ultimately, it’s a choice you have to make for yourself before buying a supplement: do you want synthetic vitamins and minerals, or plant-based vitamins and minerals? At Royal Green, we always choose the path of nature. If an ingredient is naturally bioavailable, that’s the one we use!

HOW CAN YOU RECOGNISE ORGANIC PRODUCTS?

You can identify an organic product by the EU organic label, also known as the green leaf. This label, which may be shown in white, black or green, guarantees that the product complies with strict European regulations for organic production.

In the Netherlands, compliance with these rules is closely monitored by Skal Biocontrole. They oversee the entire organic chain, from farmer to shop. It’s not only the organic farmer who is inspected, but also, for example, the producer of organic jam, the importer and the packager. These inspections take place both announced and unannounced, so you as a consumer can truly trust the label on the packaging.

WHOLE FOOD: HARNESSING EVERYTHING FROM NATURE

Royal Green follows the Whole Food principle. This means not just using a single active compound, but the entire ingredient, from leaf to root, from fruit to peel. In this way, all valuable constituents are preserved in their natural balance. This approach ensures high bioavailability and effectiveness, as the body recognises the supplements as real, complete food.

PURELY PRODUCED

At Royal Green, it’s not only about what goes into a supplement, but also how it is produced. The brand works with organic farmers worldwide and rigorously tests all ingredients for purity and origin.

GMOs are artificially modified crops, often engineered to resist pesticides. In organic farming, and therefore at Royal Green, no artificial fertilisers, chemical pesticides or genetic modification are ever used. With Royal Green, you choose products that are truly natural.
